End of trip
Three character properties + one Mt Fuji view ryokan. Hotel Niwa Tokyo (Suidobashi) is a 4-star ryokan-influenced boutique, wabi-sabi aesthetic, central location near Akihabara and Tokyo Dome, intimate. Hakone Ginyu Ryokan in Miyanoshita has 16 rooms each with private cedar bath and Mt Fuji view (the bath is the room, you bathe with the mountain in front of you at sunrise). Hotel Granvia Kyoto is built directly above Kyoto Station, escalator-only Shinkansen access, 5-star service. Ritz-Carlton Osaka in Umeda is the city's only Forbes 5-star, club lounge access included, premier sakura view from upper-floor rooms onto Osaka Castle Park. Honeymoon room upgrades confirmed 14 days out at all four.

We monitor the Japan Meteorological Corporation sakura forecast which updates weekly from late February. Tokyo peak typically falls April 1–7; Kyoto April 5–12; Osaka March 30–April 6. If by 14 days before your booking the forecast shifts ahead or behind by more than 3 days, we move your trip dates within ±5 days at no charge, we re-book hotels, trains, and reservations. This costs us about ₹5,000 in re-booking fees per shift but is worth it for the peak-bloom photograph. Beyond ±5 days the trip is sub-optimal regardless of dates.
One night is enough for the Mt Fuji sunrise + ryokan kaiseki + Hakone Free Pass loop (Open-Air Museum + Lake Ashi + Owakudani). Two nights is worth it if you want a slower onsen day plus a Hakone shrine walk, add ₹18,000/couple. We recommend 1N as default because the Kyoto sakura content is the trip's emotional anchor and we want you fully in Kyoto for two days.
Climate windows tagged for this trip, peak months are hotel-priced accordingly, shoulder months trade weather for value.

Standard hotel check-in is 1.30 PM and check-out 10 AM. For questions specific to your booking, message your planner.
Yes, but we'd actually recommend skipping it for this sakura trip. Hakone Day 4 covers Mt Fuji from a closer angle (Lake Ashi vs Kawaguchi). The Lake Kawaguchi sakura-with-Fuji photograph (the chureito pagoda 5-tier shot) is iconic but adds 12h of train + bus over already-tight pacing. If you must, we can re-sequence Day 3 to Lake Kawaguchi and skip the teamLab afternoon. Tell us at booking.
Tokyo and Kyoto have strong vegetarian options (Vegan Bistro Jangara, T's TanTan in Tokyo Station, Mumokuteki in Kyoto). Hakone ryokan kaiseki has a fully vegetarian shojin alternative, we book this 14 days out. Restaurant reservations get vegetarian-friendly notes from us. The hanami picnic bento can be all-veg by default. Indian food is available at Saffron Akihabara and Ganesh Kyoto if you need a break.
Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka are all comfortable for same-sex couples, staff at our hotel partners specifically confirm same-sex bookings, no awkward bed-configuration questions at check-in. Onsen and ryokan baths are gender-segregated; same-sex couples bathe in their respective sides. Public hand-holding is uncommon by Japanese norms regardless of orientation, but no negative attention. We mark same-sex bookings discreetly at confirmation.
Standard TAT terms apply, deposits are transferable to future TAT bookings within 12 months, full refund minus ₹5,000 admin if you cancel 60+ days before travel. The sakura date-shift guarantee covers same-trip date adjustments, not full-trip year-over-year shifts.
