The definitive Royal Enfield Himalayan expedition through Spiti, the Manali-Kaza-Shimla circuit on two wheels. A properly maintained Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 (or Bullet 500) is included. Route takes in Rohtang Pass, Kunzum Pass, Key Monastery, Hikkim, Dhankar, Tabo and the Kinnaur gorge. For riders with prior Himalayan experience, minimum 2 years riding.

Day-by-day Itinerary

Arrive Manali by previous night. Morning: bike collection at garage, full inspection, test ride. Briefing on the route, altitude protocols, emergency contacts and mechanic support number. Afternoon: warm-up ride to Solang Valley (30km). Return Manali. Meet fellow bikers at dinner.
Early 6am departure, Rohtang must be crossed before afternoon traffic and cloud. Cross Rohtang Pass (3,978m). Through Gramphu and Batal on the Chandra River. Climb to Kunzum Pass (4,551m), mandatory prayer at the Kunzum Mata temple before entering Spiti. Descend to Batal. Basic tent camp or PWD rest house. Stargazing from 4,200m altitude.
Easy morning ride through Chandra River valley, the landscape turns lunar. Arrive Kaza (3,800m) by noon. Acclimatization afternoon. Rest, walk around market, meet locals. Evening: biker community dinner, exchange route intel with other riders passing through.
Dawn ride to Key Monastery (4,166m), arrive before 8am for morning prayers with the monks. Golden hour light on the gompa is extraordinary. Kibber Village. Cross Chicham Bridge on the bike, looking straight down 150m while riding is something you do not forget. Return Kaza.
Hikkim (4,440m): World's highest post office. Langza: Fossil stop. Komic: Highest motor village in Asia (4,513m). Descend back to Kaza. Afternoon: ride to Pin Valley entrance (30km), the glacier-fed Pin River runs beside a perfect tarmac road through dramatic canyon. Return Kaza. Last night in Spiti.
Morning at Dhankar Gompa on the cliff. Descend to Spiti River road. Ride to Tabo (3,280m), a moment of stillness after days of altitude riding. Tabo Monastery visit (1,000 years of continuous worship). Cross into Kinnaur at Sumdo. Overnight Tabo.
The Kinnaur gorge, India's most dramatic riding road. Sheer cliff wall on one side, Sutlej River 300m below on the other. Some sections single-lane with blasting work. Nako Lake stop. Kinner Kailash (6,050m) towering above apple orchards. Arrive Reckong Peo by evening. Overnight.
Final day. Descent through Nathpa, Rampur, Narkanda. Return to the civilized world. Arrive Shimla by afternoon. Bike return at Shimla garage (or ride to Chandigarh, extra day arrangement available). Trip ends Shimla.
