Five nights of Italy for families with kids, the proper Rome + Florence + Venice sequence with kid-paced days, 2 nights in Rome + 2 in Florence + 1 in Venice, connected by Frecciarossa high-speed trains so you skip airports between cities. Rome is paced for kids: Vatican shorter version (skip the long galleries; head straight for Sistine Chapel + St. Peter's Square), Colosseum gladiator-themed family tour (English guide who keeps kids engaged with the stories of the gladiators), gelato every afternoon. Florence is the Renaissance day with kid-hooks: Uffizi family highlights tour (Botticelli's Birth of Venus + Leonardo + the Medici corridor in 90 min, not 3 hours), Brunelleschi's dome climb (the climbing IS the experience for kids 8+), Boboli Gardens picnic. Venice is the gondola-and-mask night: water taxi arrival, gondola ride for the family (the kids' photo-album highlight), kid-friendly Venetian dinner near St. Mark's. We pre-book all skip-the-line tickets, coordinate Indian veg / Jain meals at 4 dinners, and use family rooms at all 3 hotels (separate kid's bed area, not just a sofa-bed). Most kid-paced Italy package we run, designed for kids 6-14, but adaptable to younger / older.

Want us to call you?
A planner, not a call centre.
Yes, but our 90-min family-paced version is the right call, not the standard 3-hour adult tour. We use a specific kid-engaging guide (Roberta, who's been with us 4 years) who tells the Sistine Chapel story in language kids understand (Michelangelo lying on his back painting for 4 years, etc.). The standard 3-hour Vatican tour is designed for adults; kids tap out by hour 2 and the rest of the day is ruined. The 90-min family version covers Sistine Chapel + St. Peter's Square (the must-haves) and skips the long galleries. Worth booking.
Yes for kids 8+, with caveats. The 463-step climb is the kids' photo highlight of the trip (the narrow spiral staircase, the dramatic emergence at the top with the entire Florentine skyline). Kids 8+ can do it; kids 6-7 may struggle on the last 100 steps and need carrying. Kids under 6 we don't recommend it, we substitute Giotto's Campanile climb instead (414 steps, easier, equally dramatic view, identical photo-quality). Mention kids' ages at booking and we'll evaluate.

Standard hotel check-in is 1.30 PM and check-out 10 AM. For questions specific to your booking, message your planner.
Italy is the easiest non-Indian country for vegetarian families, every restaurant has 4+ veg pasta options (cacio e pepe, pasta al pomodoro, ravioli ricotta-spinaci, gnocchi, pizza margherita). For Jain we send 2 specific Indian restaurants in Rome (Maharajah, Surya Mahal), included Maharajah dinner is full Jain on advance request. Mercato Centrale Florence has 8+ veg stalls. Roscioli has a veg carbonara (mushrooms, no guanciale). Kids will eat well. For strict Jain we send 2 days of cooked dabbas from a Rome-based Jain caterer (₹1,200/meal/family), flag at booking.
Frecciarossa high-speed trains are kid-friendly: reclining seats, ample luggage space at the end of each car, Wi-Fi, USB charging, food/coffee cart with kid-friendly snacks. We pre-book your seat (so you're not standing) at the cheapest available rate. The train station to-from city centres is walking-distance in both Rome (Termini) and Florence (SMN); 5-10 min walk with luggage. For kids under 4, we add a stroller-friendly seating arrangement; for kids 12+ they often want a window seat (we book accordingly). 90 min Rome-Florence and 2 hours Florence-Venice, manageable durations.
May-June and September-early October are the answer, perfect weather (15-25°C), gardens at full bloom, gelato every day, sights uncrowded after summer-break peak. May is peak, long days till 21:00, manageable crowds. September is sweet spot for the family weather. Avoid July-August (32-38°C with kids is brutal, Romans escape, restaurants close). Christmas-NY week is iconic but ultra-peak. Avoid Easter week (Vatican mobbed). We don't recommend November-February for first-time Italy families, cold and short days, unless you specifically want Christmas markets or Venice Carnevale.
