Andaman Trip Cost From India: What Couples and Families Actually Pay

An Andaman trip from India costs ₹22,999 per person for a 5N/6D honeymoon and ₹30,000 per person for a 5N/6D family trip, on Trust and Trip's live prices. Flights to Port Blair are extra on every Andaman trip we sell.

Cheaper two and three night Andaman trips exist, and for most people they're a mistake. Spend your money on nights on Havelock, not on add-ons.

What does an Andaman trip actually cost?

The cheapest is the Andaman Quick Escape at ₹9,999 for 2N/3D: one night in Port Blair, one on Havelock, ferries both ways, and the Cellular Jail with its light and sound show. 5% GST is added on top. The Best of Andaman, Havelock and Neil Island Getaway at ₹11,999 stretches that to 3N/4D with a Neil Island day trip and a speedboat out to Elephant Beach for snorkelling, again with 5% GST extra.

The honeymoon range starts at ₹19,999 for 3N/4D with one night in a four-star Havelock resort and a candlelight dinner. It goes to ₹22,999 for the 5N/6D Romantic Island Honeymoon Escape, ₹42,999 for a 5N/6D honeymoon with three sea-facing nights on Havelock, and ₹89,999 for 7N/8D with four nights at Barefoot on Havelock and a private sunset catamaran.

Andaman family trips run ₹28,000 for 4N/5D, ₹30,000 for 5N/6D, ₹36,999 for a second 4N/5D, and ₹52,999 for 6N/7D. At the top, the 8N/9D Grand Explorer at ₹99,999 is the only Trust and Trip listing that goes north to Baratang, Rangat and Diglipur.

Why is a 2N/3D Andaman trip a false economy?

Because the ferry eats the trip. Every Andaman itinerary starts and ends in Port Blair, and Havelock is a boat ride away. On the ₹9,999 trip you land on day one, cross to Havelock on day two, and cross back on day three to fly out. You get one evening at Radhanagar Beach and a lot of jetty.

The ₹11,999 trip is better value per night, but look at its shape. Two of its three nights are in Port Blair, the least interesting place in the islands to sleep. Our own Andaman destination page puts the ideal stay at five to seven days, and the itineraries back that up. Anything under five nights is an Andaman trip you'll spend partly in transit.

If you only have a long weekend, go somewhere with a shorter transfer. That isn't what the Andaman is for.

Which Andaman honeymoon trip is worth the money?

For most couples, the ₹22,999 5N/6D. It gives you two nights on Havelock, one on Neil, two in Port Blair, the ferries between all three, Elephant Beach by boat with snorkelling, and the permit charges. Lunch, dinner, scuba and GST (where it applies) are extra.

The ₹42,999 Andaman honeymoon is the same length and costs about ₹20,000 more per person. What that buys is specific: a third night on Havelock in place of the Neil night, a sea-facing room 50 metres from the beach, pre-booked Makruzz Premium ferry seats, one Discover Scuba dive at Elephant Beach, a glass-bottom boat ride, a private candlelight dinner, and GST already included. It also carries a bioluminescent kayak tour at Vijaynagar, but only from November to April.

So here's the rule. Travelling between November and April, and one of you wants to try diving? The ₹42,999 trip earns its price. Travelling in October, or not interested in getting underwater? Book the ₹22,999 trip and pay for a dive on the day if you change your mind. Our other Andaman listings price a Discover Scuba at ₹4,500, paid direct.

Skip the ₹19,999 3N/4D. One night on Havelock with a dinner attached is mostly a transfer.

The ₹89,999 7N/8D is for a different couple. Four nights at Barefoot on Havelock is the reason to book it. If you'd rather have a slow week in one good place than cover three islands, it's the one. If you're comparing it on price per night against the others, you've misread what it's selling.

What should an Andaman family trip cost?

Around ₹30,000 per person for 5N/6D, and the Andaman trip to book at that price is the 5N/6D Port Blair, Havelock and Neil Island itinerary, because it puts two nights on each island. Breakfast and all inter-island ferries are in. Water sports, entry tickets it doesn't name, lunch and dinner are not.

The cheaper ₹28,000 4N/5D family trip is the one to avoid with children. It checks into a different hotel every night for four nights. Entry tickets and adventure activities are excluded, and 5% GST goes on top of the ₹28,000. The ₹30,000 listing doesn't say either way on GST, so ask before you compare the two.

At ₹52,999 for 6N/7D you're paying for the things that matter more with small children or older parents: three nights on Havelock in a family cottage, Premium ferry seats booked in advance, sea walking at North Bay for children aged 8 and up, vegetarian and Jain breakfast options arranged ahead, and GST included. The extra night and the fewer hotel changes are what the money goes on.

One Andaman option families overlook is the ₹34,999 5N/6D group trip. It includes breakfast and dinner every day with veg and Jain options, a North Bay pass with sea walking, jet ski and banana boat, a glass-bottom boat ride, Premium ferry seats and GST. Under ₹40,000, nothing else in our Andaman range comes as close to an all-in price. The catch is that it's a group departure, so you travel on its dates, not yours.

When is the best time for an Andaman trip?

November to April for most people, with January to March the calmest. That's where the Trust and Trip Andaman listings that carry month-by-month notes agree. June to August is monsoon, ferries get cancelled, and several of our own Andaman itineraries don't run at all in those months.

Late September and October are shoulder months. Rooms are cheaper and the weather is patchy. Two of our listings flag a jellyfish risk at the north end of Radhanagar Beach in October, so ask before you plan beach days around it.

Two stretches to watch if you're booking now. The Diwali school break books fast, and our group listing advises booking 90 days or more ahead for that week. Christmas to New Year carries a room premium that our Andaman listings put at 30–40%, depending on the property, with Barefoot at the top of that range.

What isn't included in an Andaman trip price?

Flights to Port Blair, on every one of our fourteen Andaman listings. We're not quoting fares, because they move too much by date and departure city to be useful here. Price your flights first. On a land cost this low, they change the comparison more than anything else in this post.

Lunch and dinner, on almost every trip. Water sports beyond whatever is named. GST, on some listings and not others: the ₹9,999, ₹11,999, ₹28,000 and ₹36,999 trips add 5%, while the ₹34,999, ₹42,999, ₹52,999 and ₹89,999 trips include it.

And costs caused by weather. Several of our Andaman listings exclude expenses from ferry cancellations and bad weather, which means an extra night stuck on Havelock is yours to pay for. Travel insurance is worth buying for that reason alone.

You don't need a passport or a visa. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are Indian territory, so an Indian traveller flies in on the same photo ID as any domestic flight.

Who should skip the Andaman?

Anyone with fewer than five nights. You'll mostly see ferries.

Anyone travelling between June and August, for the reasons above.

Anyone who wants nightlife. Havelock evenings are dinner and an early night. If that sounds dull, a different beach will suit you better.

Anyone who gets badly seasick. Every island move is a ferry, and the snorkelling and Elephant Beach runs are small boats.

So what should most people book?

Couples: the Andaman 5N/6D Romantic Island Honeymoon Escape at ₹22,999 per person, or the ₹42,999 version if you're going between November and April and want the dive. Families: the ₹30,000 5N/6D with two nights on each island. Either way, five nights is the floor.
