Honest answer, helicopter circuits are cancelled or shortened ~15% of the time during the yatra season due to wind/visibility. Our protocol: (1) if cancelled fully before takeoff, you get a 100% refund of the helicopter fare (₹88,000/pax of the package value). (2) If 1–2 dhams are reachable and the rest are weathered out, we refund pro-rata. (3) If Kedarnath specifically is the issue, we offer a 1-day extension to retry next morning at our cost. We don't take the helicopter risk, the operator does, and we stand between you and them.
Yes, with a doctor's fitness certificate (we share the format). The helicopter operator's hard limit is age 75 unaccompanied; 75+ must travel with a fit attendant. Heart conditions, severe BP, recent surgery (within 6 months) require explicit medical clearance. We've flown 78-year-old yatris on this exact circuit; we've also turned away one with uncontrolled BP at the helipad weighing. Don't hide medical history, the operator will refund and ground you if you do.
Climate windows tagged for this trip, peak months are hotel-priced accordingly, shoulder months trade weather for value.

Standard hotel check-in is 1.30 PM and check-out 10 AM. For questions specific to your booking, message your planner.
Yes, strictly. The heli operators weigh you and your bag at the helipad. Total cannot exceed 75 kg combined. Excess is ₹1,200/kg or you stay on the ground. Our suggestion: pack only the day's essentials (4-5 kg max), leave everything at Hotel Solitaire (we hold rooms). Yatris with body weight near 75 kg should pack a 2-kg cabin only. We send the weighing protocol PDF on booking.
We register you when you book, our coordinator files the IDs (Aadhaar, age, contact, helipad assignment) with Uttarakhand Tourism's online system. Each yatri gets a registration QR (we email you), which is checked at every helipad and temple. Without it, you cannot board. Sometimes the portal is down 2–3 days/season; we have a manual escalation path in those windows.
The yatra is open only late April / early May (Akshay Tritiya) to Diwali / Bhaiya Dooj (October-November). Outside that window all four dhams are closed (heavy snow, deities relocated to winter seats: Kedarnath → Ukhimath, Yamunotri → Kharsali, Badrinath → Joshimath, Gangotri → Mukhba). The helicopter circuit does not operate in winter. We can offer a winter-seat darshan trip Dec–Mar from the same Dehradun base, ask your TAT planner.
